Beauty Product Review — Kat Von D Go Big Or Go Home Mascara & Tattoo Liner

Mascara and eyeliner are two makeup bag must-haves that I can’t go without. You’ll never catch me running out the door without my eyes done. I like high pigmented eye makeup that wears well throughout the day and doesn’t smudge or flake.

I switched my everyday mascara and eyeliner to Kat Von D products to see how they would perform. Here’s a review of what I tried out:

Tattoo linerThis eyeliner retails for $20 & I tried the Trooper – Satin Black color. It also comes in Mad Max Brown – rich chocolate brown.

Pros: Vegan and cruelty free, YES!! This liner is award winning because of its precision point–it really is awesome! The pen form makes this eyeliner very convenient and easy to use. It’s also easy to open/close with a spring action top. It’s waterproof, offers all day wear and doesn’t smudge. It also doesn’t crack or flake and goes on dark (high-pigmented). Love all of these results!

Cons: After a few uses, I started to notice inconsistent flow out of the tip. So, I would have to shake the liner up then start my line back over…that’s when I noticed the slight rubbing off of the existing liner on my eyelid. It could be that it wasn’t completely dry?…Although, I do feel it dries fairly quickly. If this happens, I recommend waiting about 30 seconds to a minute then continue from your stopping point rather than starting over. You could also begin drawing from the other end of your eyelid to connect the line.

While I do like this product, I rate this product 4 out of 5 stars due to the price point and inconsistency delivery of the liner. I am making this product my go-to for eyelid liner until I find something better.

Go Big Or Go Home Mascara — This mascara retails for $23 & I tried the Trooper Black-True Black color. This is currently the only color choice, it also comes in a mini size.

Pros: I love that it’s vegan, made with oils and cruelty free. It has an Awesome! brush…this is the very first thing I look for with mascara. It provides high pigmentation and great volume with a lightweight feel. Lashes fan out without clumping when applying and it’s buildable. It’s a non-waterproof mascara…this is a pro for me because I lose lashes after removing waterproof mascara.

Cons: I noticed light clumping after reapplying same day, but not bad. Sadly, mascara flakes off and falls under eye with and without eyelash primer. After a few uses, the mascara feels really dry when applying like an old tube used for several weeks. This does affect how lashes look. Note: The formula is purposely a dryer one. It may be possible that it dries out faster…not sure. Since it’s made with plant based oils like olive & sunflower oil, I was hoping this wouldn’t happen.

Overall, I wouldn’t purchase. The flaking alone loses my interest. I rate this product 3 out of 5 stars.

Please let me know if you have any questions about these products. I used full size, new products for this review. All thoughts and opinions are my own. This post is not sponsored; however, I did receive these products complimentary for review purposes. XOXO, BRITTNEY
