Beauty Product Review – Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Foundation Stick

I put aside my holy grail foundation to try out a new one: bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Hydrating Foundation Stick. (Phew…That’s a long name for a makeup!) I wore this foundation for a few weeks to get a good feel for it in order to provide you with this detailed review.

This foundation is a cleaner alternative to tons out there! It’s vegan and cruelty free + it’s free from parabens, gluten, phthalates, minerals oils and much more. It’s a medium buildable coverage foundation that provides a hydrating complexion. It gives the skin a radiant allover glow while covering up most imperfections. (I really like this!)

It’s in a convenient stick that you can twist to use allowing for a quick application. It also allows the application to be so much cleaner and easier than liquid foundations because you can apply the desired amount of coverage directly to your face. It’s great for touch ups, as a contour or as a concealer. As an added bonus, it has sunscreen in it. This stick foundation blends well and goes on smooth and buttery. I feel like it sits on top of the skin. This isn’t a bad thing, but it rubs off too easily even with a setting spray. For instance, I was cleaning up my brows after applying and some coverage was removed above and below my brow. I had to rub the existing foundation in and over those areas to cover. As long as you don’t rub your face, it should wear all day. Other than that, it did take me from morning to night with good coverage.

This may sound odd…it sort of feels like it doesn’t dry, I think it’s the creaminess of the foundation. It’s for sure not sticky and it feels light on and keeps the face feeling moisturized. I didn’t have any cracking or creasing, which is a plus. It felt smooth all day.

This is a foundation you will need to top with powder. But before you do, let it dry a few minutes. I wore it a few times as a foundation alone without any powder…BAD! My face was very shiny and looked oily, I had to blot several times. When wearing powder over the foundation, it was MUCH better and less oily. Even using bare minerals powder, I still had a small amount of shininess at the end of the day. I could easily cover with more powder or blot.

I love that it didn’t clog my pores, it’s hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic. Like I previously mentioned, it feels like it’s on top of the skin without the heavy feel. I was able to evaluate the shade I needed online and it blended well with my skin tone. I tried the shade Natural 05. This foundation is a little pricey for the small amount of foundation you get, which is a con.

Here are the ingredients straight off the box:

Overall, I wouldn’t personally use as an everyday makeup due to getting oily spots. I’d rather not worry about adding powder or blotting during the day. It would be a good makeup for quick coverage if you were running late or didn’t want to spend a lot of time doing makeup. FYI: I’m used to a mattifying foundation that doesn’t rub and requires no powder. My skin is normal, but can be combination if I don’t balance it correctly. I rate it a 4 out of 5.

While I did receive this product complimentary for sampling purposes, it did not affect my review. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I hope this review helps you out! Please let me know if you have any questions, I’d be happy to answer! XOXO, BRITTNEY
