I am crazy about a good basic! A basic is an essential piece that you can wear over and over. Something cute, comfortable, versatile AND affordable. It also has to be multi-purposeful: Does it make a good layering piece? Can you easily dress it up? These are all important things to think about before purchasing.
Savings Tip: Thinking ahead of the many & creative ways you can wear an item can help save you money. You’ll be inclined to wear the item more often.
Today, I’m sharing my favorite basic tees that you can wear year round.
Target has a current line called Universal Threads. It’s a casual line with a vintage touch. Such a great worn in feel. There are several colors to choose from and they’re $8 each or 3 for $20!

Another great line at Target is A New Day. There are 2 styles that I like from this line. One is fitted with a cotton blend and the other is soft, stretchy and sleek. These are also $8 each or 3 for $20.

Scoopneck (sleek rayon) More colors
Old Navy has a “Luxe” tee line. I am obsessed! It’s a super soft line that has a sleek look. These are the best dress up tees and great for the office with a kimono, cardigan or blazer. These are not your average boxy tee, they have a curved hem. Less than $20.
Walmart has blown me away with their new line, Time and Tru. Great quality at an awesome price. These tees linked below are all less than $8!
There you have it! These are my favorite basic tees & the ones I wear most often. They offer comfort and quality in various colors.
Now, please let me know…..What do you look for in a ‘basic’? Is there an essential & affordable tee that I should know about? Feel free to share in the comments below.
Thank you for sharing a part of your day with me! I hope you have a great week ahead. Come by again soon!

XOXO, BRITTNEY
I completely agree about the Time and Tru line! They’re currently my favorite, and their denim line is pretty spectacular, too! Have you tried any of their skirts or dresses yet?
🙂 I haven’t yet, but they have some cute dresses.
I’m addicted to buying basic tees! I always have to sit and think about what colors I have. I especially love the ones that are soft and just long enough that I can wear them with leggings.
